a swap and something for me

time flies is one of my atc books and is made for a swap.  the paper is hand painted and the items i think are from crowabout collage sheets.
i've been very busy playing with paint and i put together about 15 journals (mostly 5.5 x 8.5) and was playing around and came up with this one.  i cut out a a figure from a magazine and used it to mask on tissue paper.  glued it to a piece of stock paper and then outlined and detailed.  like the way it turned out.

nice connections made at Art Opera

I have such nice memories of Art Opera last week, and fortunately I have lots of stuff to show for it.  These two items are for swaps, but I thought I would give you some of the back story.  For "spring" I met a couple of ladies (mother and daughter) in Traci Bautista's class.  They had these wonderful papers that had these fabulous (you know me)  bird drawings on them.  Come to find out they are from an old book (and site) that she printed on old book paper and hand colored.  I had to have them!  So thank you Leah!
This is a postcard.

The faux birthday card is for a skinny swap for #8.  These are some more items I got during Art Opera.  Ah, such nice memories.  For those of you reading this, please check out ArtOperanj.com.  It is run by Lisa Kettell and she did a fabulous job for her 1st time around and I can only imagine the next one will be ultra fabulous!  It is worth the trip - and Lisa says she will be doing lots of activities between now and next year.

Go ahead, check it out, you know you want to!

Things I should've learned from Norm/give-a-way

For like ever I faithfully watched This Old House.  Yes I have a thing for Bob Villa... sexy devil.  One of the things that Norm repeated over and over is "measure twice, cut once".  I try to remember that when I cut fabric or wood, but I need to start when I do art.  So the moral of this story is - read directions.  I went to send my inchies to my partner and re-read the directions and found I didn't follow the directions at all.  Now I have 26 inchies with no home to go to... unless you would like me to send to you?  Leave a comment and I will select and mail to someone.  I will pick on Sunday April 11.

More swaps!

Inchies

I haven't done inchies in such a long long time, but signed up for a swap.   I used watercolor paper which I wet and drizzled Golden fluid acylics, and smooshed the paper together.  It makes such a cool background.  The flowers are little decals I received in a swap and added dots, edges and other stuff.
