Next Stop

This is a picture of my dad, aunt and their friends about 88 years ago. My dad is the one with the wild hair on the left and my aunt is the one in the front with the flower on her hat.

Dream

Crowabout continued

This was another background that Nancy showed us. I used watercolor crayons and a wet paper towel to spread the color.

I then added the borders and used scraps from previous backgrounds.

Playing with Nancy (Crowabout)

I am so enthralled with Nancy at Crowabout. She now has a group and she is going through step-by-step to put together a collage. First we started with building a background. I made 4, but this one is the one I went forward with.

Then I added the border. Can't wait to see what we do next!

Corozon Swap

Here's my take on the corozon swap I signed up for. My partner mentioned she likes vintage, metals, etc. So I used some old copper, rusty screen and wire, metal heart and a tape transfer all on hand painted watercolor paper. Hopefully she'll like it.

Mushroom Handmade Postcard

Here are the 2 postcards going out - 1 to Canada and the other to Finland. I signed up for this swap because I had just made my two mushroom stamps from foam so I figured why not? The first one I painted with interference green and the other with intereference blue. Also used micaceous iron oxide for the shadowing and souffle gel pens. All that made it very psychedelic looking so I named them that.

The Owls and the Pussycats

This is for a handmade bookmark swap. At my local stamp club monthly meeting we played with shaving cream and ink to make marble designs on paper. We used these sticks to clean the shaving cream off the paper... well I loved the look so much I saved it for this project. I also used a stamp, packing tape transfer and markers. I hope my swap partner likes!

Magazine Cover Swap

One thing I need to learn to do is take a photo of what I start with... This was the cover for W magazine. It was Uma Thurman. The dress is covered by 3 different stickles (2 distressed). My partner is also the swap hostess!

Think Pink

This swap is for homemade pink postcards. So since I have been playing with making my own stamps out of foam, I thought I would immortalize my boy Jake. I hope they like!

Inthishouseandgarden Journal Swap

This is going to be a fun swap. For my journal (garden artful), I chose garden, nature, flowers. I guess I should've said distressed as well. The first and last photos are the front and back of the journal and the two pages are my journal pages. The "clothesline" pages are for my sign-ins. Now to pack off to the next of 9 players. Guess I will see the finished book in about 10 months or so (since we mail the first of every month). Stay tuned for more updates!

Round 3!

Ok. So we're getting close to the end of the round robin. I used a lot of distress stickles on each one. I think there will be 2 more rounds then I get mine back finished! This is for Sarah Fishburn.

give me a hand

This is for a swap - draw your hand and decorate it zentangle style. I mounted it on a foam sheet, covered it with laminate and sending it naked. The hard part was outlining my hand - I definately went outside the lines. Hope she likes it.

Artistic Atc 3

So I may have exceeded my swap limits. Have swaps going on in Inthishouseandgarden (round robin blocks and round robin journal), Allthingstim (atcs and tags) and of coarse Swap-bot. I think I have something due everyday. PHEW! This is for one that is due today. This is a drawing of my boy Jake (he's black - so this is the reverse drawing!)

This is hand painted (love daisies) and the calligraphy on the inside.

Another Round - Robin that is!

Here is the second round robin blocks for inthishouseandgarden yahoo group. Since I love that darn checkerboard, I decided to have that as my background for all blocks I do.

Birdcage stamp

My two newest homemade foam stamps - the birdcage and mushroom. As you can probably see on the mushroom, I have added detail into the foam. Getting addicting!

Black/White Postcard Swap

Another swap on Swap-bot. This time for a black/white handmade postcard. It will be cut in two and mounted to cardstock.

Stylish - Another Card

My home made dress stamp, but added a wire hanger!

Foam Stamps

The other night I taught a class at my local stamp group - how to make your own stamps from foam. It was a lot of fun, and I think they all enjoyed. It's so easy to make any kind of stamp (as long as it doesn't have too much detail). These little dresses I made and like the look. Stamped with distress ink (my favorite) and detailed with black pen and copic marker. The checkerboard I made with my excel program. Easily change the size of the block!

Fairy Swap

Here is my fairy book that I did for a swap on Swap-bot. Not sure why, but the colors are a bit off. Anywho, hope the recipient likes!

More fun with paint

In the In this House and Garden group, we are working on a round robin for altered wood blocks. Here are my three ready to mail. Some signed up for 1, some 3 (me! me!). Should be fun to see these as they pass through and return home. Will share the completed ones.

Nancy Baumiller Collage Play with Crowabout

I was looking at several blogs today, and ran accross Nancy Baumiller. She has a Flickr site that has challenges each week. I'm hoping that I understand this correctly, you are to take what she uploads and use it in a collage. This is what I put together using three of the elements in Collage 1. I'm also to thank those who put together the items in collage 1 (Images from: linnet555, cassandra204, monkey123, Suzee Que, clotho98, jack and cat curio, wackystuff, jerseybarb85, Judy Scott, fidgetrainbowtree, HA! Designs-Artbyheather, ArtbyChrysti, sassyarts, neefer, imagesbyKim, annieoakley, Stars*Go*Blue, sPaRK*YouR*iMaGiNaTioN, wiebelwuppie, Joy Eliz, PaperScraps and Nancy Baumiller!! )

This is called beautiful dreamer - the yellow flower, the striped road background and the letters on the left are all from photos I took in Washington DC a week or 2 ago. Added my usual butterfly and wam! A collage.

Bird nest charm

On All Things Tim, a discussion popped up regarding making bird nest charms with wire and beads. Several posted links they have seen. Here is the link to youtube and the link to the blog. The person I gave it to loves it! Try it - you'll like it!

Butterfly Note Cards

Okay, hooked again on swap-bot. These are for a swap for butterfly note cards. I used the new Tim Holtz alcohol ink colors, a can of air, white paint dots and swirls, a little distress crackle paint and my most favorite butterflies. As always, I hope she likes these cards.
